Soran University Ranks First at the Regional Level and Seventh in Iraq
According to QS’s latest ranking of universities, Soran University ranked first in the Kurdistan Region. It has also made significant progress in Iraq, reaching the seventh place. On the occasion of this great achievement, the QS award was given to Soran University’s President in a special ceremony.
QS is an accredited international institution that classifies universities. During a ceremony held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to announce the latest ranking, Soran University was able to make great success and progress.
According to the new ranking for 2023, Soran University became the first among all other universities in Kurdistan Region, and ranked seventh, along three other Iraqi universities, at the level of all Iraqi universities. Soran University is currently ranked 131-150, a significant improvement over last year when ranked 151-180.
During the ceremony which was held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, for Arab and North African countries, Soran University’s President AP.Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas was invited as a special guest. He was accompanied by Dr. Muzaffar Sabir the director of academic relations at the university to attend the ceremony. On this occasion, an award and a certificate for this great achievement were given by the QS Institution to the President of Soran University.
On this occasion, the presidency of Soran University congratulates its students, teachers, and staff, as well the entire Kurdistan academic association. It extends its gratitude to anyone who played a role in making this achievement. Soran University pledges to maintain this scientific status, and to seek further development to it.
